@COG You can be saved and not do anything, it’s God who does the saving. But you can’t have holiness without doing something. Holiness is your walk, talk and dress and without the walk, talk and dress you won’t see the Lord.

You can’t be holy by just confessing righteousness. You gotta walk and dress holy and righteous.

  2. Charles Page says:

You are not holy because you are saved you are holy because you sought holiness in sanctification. Don’t let no liberal COG preacher tell you you’re sanctified when you got saved. He is depriving you of a true life in Christ and the word.

  3. Terry Wiles says:

    You have to believe

  4. You left off the “follow peace with all men that must accompany the holiness that you are pushing so adamantly.

Also being saved without doing anything,,
That “being saved” must produce works to accompany that salvation as a show of faith.

Salvation will not just stand, and it never stands alone.

I have a question Charles Page, how does one become “saved” according to God’s Word?

  6. Charles Page says:

That is exactly the question that Nicodemus ask Jesus. The new birth is mysterious; like the wind blowing.

  7. Teresa Vnwy says:

is “saved” and “born again” the same???

  8. Charles Page says:

How were you born the first time. Do you recall how your mom and dad met and the circumstances that led to their falling in love and how you were conceived. You started with a twinkle in your father’s eyes and you were born.

It is a fact of life and “You must be born again”, Jesus said.

  9. Levi Chavis says:

And how does someone become born again?

  10. Charles Page says:

all the will of God and not by the will of man. If your will to believe is working then you ARE born again. This is why the COG states that sanctification is subsequent to the new birth. You have to be born again in order to go on to sanctification.

  11. Levi Chavis says:

    John 3:3-5
3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”
4 “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!”
5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.

  12. Levi Chavis says:

There is only one scripture in God’s Word that tells us how to be born again of water and the Spirit.
