Missions Trip to Ecuador

The following letter was sent to World Missions by LMR Glenda Abbe from Raleigh, NC.

I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas and I pray thatyou will have a blessed new year!

Three ladies and I just returned from a mission trip toEcuador. I’ve been going there for 19 years, and it's always great to see oldfriends.

We spent most of our time in ministry with the QuichuaIndians, teaching at a Quichuan ladies bible school on the first day. We alsoministered in a large Spanish church where many rededicated their lives to Jesus. One Sunday night, we ministered in a church where the pastor had recentlydreamed that special guests would be visiting. To his surprise, we were thosespecial guests, and God moved mightily in hearts that night. We visited other nchurches, where many were filled with the Holy Spirit.

We had the opportunity to visit El Comedor (The Dining Room)where 80 children came for an after school meal and received great teaching.

There was a two-day conference for the women and change wasevident in their lives. We saw them becoming more confident and saw joy filltheir hearts. Although this was a conference for believers, there was anunsaved lady and her daughter who attended and accepted Jesus. We heard many otherwonderful testimonies of what God did in their lives during the conference. They were excited to take home 3 to 4 items of clothing that we brought to share. One night, the ladies had a beautifully decorated banquet for couples. A coupleperformed a matrimonial dance in their native costumes.

One highlight of our trip was the opportunity to share at anall girls high school where we witnessed about 125 girls come down to acceptJesus in their heart.

Matthew 28: 19-20 tells us "Go therefore and makedisciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and ofthe Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I havecommanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Thisis the command that we followed!

May God bless all of you who have contributed and prayed aswe work to spread the gospel!
