Two Good Books to Read

I finished two excellent books today that I whole-heartedly recommend. The first is a book that I recommend to the brave Christian. It’s title is “Christian Reflections” by C.S. Lewis. Lewis has been called the greatest Christian thinker and apologist (defender) of the 20^th century and one of the greatest of all-time. This book is a collection of essays that he wrote on a wide variety of topics. I warn you, it will not be easy reading for many but well worth the trouble. I encourage you to read challenging authors. Christians should be known as deep thinkers. We are called upon by the Holy Scripture to love the Lord our God with all our mind. Lewis’ book will edify and sometimes entertain you and will also sharpen you.

The second book that I finished today (second time) was “Move: What 1000 Churches Reveal about Spiritual Growth.” I wrote in the front of this book, “Life-changing. This will probably be one of the text books for the rest of my ministry.” I recommend this book more to the professional church leader and lay leaders; but it would be worth anyone’s time to read.
