Why would Elizabeth say when she saw the pregnant Mary

Luke 1:43
[43]And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

Isn’t Elizabeth’s Lord the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob?

Because Jesus is the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob made flesh.

Acts 20:28
[28]Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

  1. Kathy DeVoss says:

Elizabeth and Mary were cousins and as such she was probably aware of the situation with Mary. In referencing ” the mother of my Lord ” , Elizabeth was referencing Jesus

    Wondering how Acts 20:28 relates?

  3. Rizaldy S. Menor says:

Because Jesus came to the world through Mary and it is basic that Mary is called mother…

But no Bible English Translation I read that JESUS CALLED MARY MOTHER!

Could it be the difference as to the Hebrew words –
The LORD said unto my Lord..
