   It’s easy: He’s talking about unity.

   He wants us to be as unified as He and the Father are.

   He never claims that they pre-existed with Him and the Father, like He Himself did.

   Jesus is talking from His humanity. Some things He said from humanity and some from Deity. The union is called adoption.

   Two different persons, but one in essence (with the third person, the Holy Spirit, also one in essence with Father and Son).

   The mistake happens with a misunderstanding of “three persons equal one person.” That doesn’t work in first grade math, either.

   Jesus prays to the Father…
   None but the Father is good…

   Yes He wants us to be one with Him and the Father, but that’s not to say we are equal to them. Unity, one accord, is the objective…to find ourselves back in a good place with God that which Adam relinquished.
   All tying back to true love and devotion I believe…He wants none to perish, but be reconciled to Him.
   We have gifts of the Spirit, which can be equated to power (brash statement, not in depth) – Gifts and fruit of the Spirit

    Having shown humanity in His divinity, it’s an example like in Genesis when the Godhead said let “US” make man in “OUR” image. Jesus was fully God and fully man. An infinite understanding of this isn’t possible by finite man but what has been revealed is sufficient for the sake of His Gospel.

    This unity of one between the disciples, Jesus and the Father isn’t about sharing the divine nature, it’s about sharing the nature of love that

    1.the Father has forJesus
    2.Jesus has for the Father
    3.the disciples have for Jesus
    4.the Father has for the disciples for loving Jesus.

    It’s clearly plain from the reading of the text

    John 17:23 “that thou has sent me and hast LOVED THEM,as thou LOVE ME”✅

    John 17:24 “THOU LOVEST ME BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD”✅

    I see it as being like Jesus in the sense we now walk like Jesus, seeking to do the Father’s will. Not our will but God’s.

    Hence. “Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done”.

    It leads us to seeing through the worldview of Jesus. Adoption to be sons, children of God.

    5 to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. 6 And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God. Galatians 4:5-7

    It leads us to pray not for a porche or a Lamborghini, but His name to be glorified, no matter the costs.

    In a much greater sense it is also God abiding in us, like in all of John 15 and in extension of that, if we go through the whole of Old Testament, there is God in fellowship with Adam and Eve, Creator and creature. After the fall, then God calling Abraham out, God leading Israel out of Egypt whilst leading them as a pillar of cloud and fire. And after that the setting of the tabernacle. God living amongst Israel or tabernacling amongst (still separate), but all in all there is no direct access to God due to sin. There is a need for a high priest or priest as a middleman and a need for sacrifice to get rid of the sin. Then in the NT, God no longer resides in temples but IN and amongst believers, because the veil to the holiest of holy is torn apart by the ultimate sacrifice which is Christ. Those washed by the blood of Christ has access to God himself.

    This leads to Lordship of Christ, for Him to be enthroned in the hearts of believers. When this happens, Acts 17:28 happens, ‘In him we live and move and have our being’.

    Creator and redeemed creature is now reunited.

    Jesus Christ had two natures in one personality. DIVINE NATURE(Son of God) and HUMAN NATURE(Son of Man).

    Although we are a couple, we are joint as one. I speak to my wife and she, me. It’s easy to see as we are two physical beings yet we are one. I have authority over her yet I place her above me. She submits to me yet I serve her.

    Jesus is omnipotent God, the same ontological essence as the Father, we have unity with God but certainly not that kind of unity.

    You’re inability to fully understand the Trinity doesn’t disprove the Trinity. It just means you are desperate in hopes that God isn’t as powerful as He claims to be.

    Quantum mechanics shows us a system can be in multiple states simultaneously. We use qubits today that can be a on/off, yes/no state at the same time. Superposition allows all possible states to occur at the same time. I don’t understand it, nobody understands it. Physicists say “if you think you understand qm, you don’t understand qm.”

    I believe God gave us a glimpse into the “other realm.” Ie, God the Father in heaven, God the Son walking on earth and the Holy Spirit everywhere simultaneously. Qm says this is no problem. It’s been verified to us.

    John 3:12 I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things?

    They are one in substance, and deity. All the verses you underlined clearly show everyone that they are not the same person. Same being, not same person. The fact that they aren’t the same person is right there in the parts you have underlined. It’s really in plain sight.

    What is it that binds us together? It is the love of God, so in His nature we will be one with God. Not in His omnipotence, omniscience, nor omnipresence.

    Read Genesis 3:15. At the beginning we notice that,God had Made a convenant between the earth man and versus a Godly man.

    Infact, in all of the old Testament, it is shown clearly that, There are a Stark difference between Godly-man man and the other man.

    However, in the new Testament, Jesus clearly shown, what is the prerequisite of making a Godly-man. That is, the sin of making a religion, more Godly than God itself.
