Yesterday we lost and God gained a precious brother preacher. Garland Griffis. He was one of my influential pastors growing up and I have great memories with he and his family. Our prayers are with David Griffis, his mom and family. He will be greatly missed.

After his years of pastoring he served as a mission representative for the missions department.

As a boy I help Bro Griffis build up a brick wall of an adjacent garage to the Church that would serve as fellowship hall. I mixed the mortar and carried the bricks for that wall. In exchange I would get to drive his Mercedes Benz around the church lot. It was a 56 diesel (new then) with a four on the column strait shift. He was a terrific person with a wonderful sense of humor!
The church has greatly expanded it’s facilities but a portion of that wall is still a part of the structure. I check to see if it is still standing and explain to everyone “I help Garland Griffis build that wall!”

He will b greatly missed. He was a very good state overseer n Pa. A very dear friend. Keeping his family n prayer.

This family were great close friends of my parent’s & our family. Loved & respected them so much. My sympathy goes out to the family.
