My husband is unsaved…can I pray for God to protect him and give him wisdom and knowledge for our family and our marriage and/or for God to bless him? Will God do that or does God not do that for non-believers because they are not his children?
Thanks!!

Yes. Thst is a godly desire you have. Yes, God does that.

  2. Gerg Keyco says:

Yes. What you say is biblical.

1cor 7:13And if a woman has a husband who is not a believer and he is willing to live with her, she must not divorce him. 14For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified through her believing husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy.

When I was dating, my girlfriend and I were unbelievers. I became a christian. Now I was unequally yoked. My girlfriend didnt want to hear anything about my religious stuff. I didnt want to marry a non Christian. So I prayed for her. That’s all. Then someone at her work started talking to her. He was a christian. And eventually he led her to the lord apart from me. I didnt even know him. I just prayed. So then we got married and will celebrate 30 years this august. Dont discount prayer. Pray someone comes into his life to witness to him. ? God is real and he always answers prayer. Not always how we want but how is best for us. Sometimes it is No, sometimes it is yes, and sometimes it is later. Gods will is for your husband is to be a follower so you have a good start there.

  3. Mimi Von Trapp says:

Yes you can and you should. Paul said in 2 Corinthians 6:14 do not yoke yourselves with unbelievers. However, what’s done is done and so 1 Corinthians 7 comes into play. I was married to an unbeliever- very challenging, not what God wants for us but the Holy Spirit can change/soften someone’s heart and they can come to know Christ.

  4. John Bennett says:

    Yes

  5. Banopwa Laban says:

God will bless him, protect and give him wisdom because of you. 1corinthians 7:13-14

  6. Lukas Dohnal says:

You can pray and I believe you should. God answering the prayers of believers that are according to His word and will. God is God of mercy we were all sinners. Pleading with God for souls of lost people is acceptable and good I strongly believe. It is by Gods power that your husband can come to know Him. I will pray for him and you as well

  7. Dwight Osborne says:

You can and you should but first and foremost you should pray for his salvation

  8. Kenjup Hanapiri Dsp says:

He is still God’s son until death. He can still hear our prayers. God works mysterious ways. Don’t give up and keep praying prove you are a believer in God as you’re the living letter of God where your husband can read.

  9. Daniel Martin says:

God answers prayers like that but your husband might not recognize these blessings are from God. Sometimes when you pray things like that it has the opposite effect too. Adversity might happen but God cares about you and your prayers. Its just that your husband has a freewill also.

  14. Philip Meersman says:

Of course you can pray for that. When you ask God to give your unbelieving husband wisdom your asking God to show him grace. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom

  15. Kathy DeVoss says:

Kelly—–God is gracious and merciful. I got saved first. I could see the Holy Spirit convicting my husband and it wasn’t pretty. Conviction can be terrifying. My husband has been saved 37 years now. I, in my humanness, would like to think I hsd something to do with this but it was, of course, all the working of the Holy Spirit

  16. Bruce Butler says:

Yes you can pray all of that for him. For God to “bless him” would mean first and foremost that he,come to salvation through Christ Jesus. There are no guarentees, as God gives individuals free will. But remwmber, the Bible says, ” The prayer of a righteous man avails much’. No doubt that means a righteous woman also. God bless.

  17. Bob Jones says:

It is never wrong to pray for him unless you pray for something which is sinful or wrong

My pastors wife’s father was unsaved. She prayed for him everyday for over 30 years before he finally accepted Jesus. Do not falter just continue to pray and be a good witness.

  22. Elden Ellioth Abbott says:

    Let the Bible speak

    1 Corinthians 7:13-15 KJVS
[13] And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. [14] For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. [15] But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases : but God hath called us to peace.

So of course your prayers are of the utmost importance for your family and you Husban. Glory be to the name of God.. blessings.

God sees your heart what you want but He love to hear it from you that you love your husband to be saved. Ask God to put a New Heart and you don’t have to pray loud and God will take care of the rest ?✝️

I don’t know that God would answer such a prayer if I were in your position I would be asking for the salvation of His soul above anything else. The greatest priveledge on earth is to have a personal relationship with a God that loves you beyond human comprehension. seek ye first the Kingdom of God and all these things will be added unto you. God does say you and your family but your family still have to accept Jesus. Because you’re the shining light in their life is what will help want what you have. So keep praying till to pray the hell out of them.

The Bible says there is such a large number of people in heaven, that they could not even be numbered…

  49. William Clark says:

That’s really up to God, but I respect the question. God can actually use your husband to keep you close to Him since you’re more likely to “grip” God in an unbelieving marriage than a woman who MIGHT (not always) take a believing marriage for granted if they are married to a believer. God WILL use you to show your husband fruit and try to keep the faith, I know that can’t possibly be easy. But there might be times when you might be ready to say, “Seriously God?? Are we really reaching him?” and your husband COULD start asking “God, I don’t know if you’re out there or not, but my wife is completely convinced You are. I don’t know about You, but I know that I love her and trust her, show me something.” We (as spouses) may never know when and if a prayer like that is ever being prayed. Please try to be encouraged by that.
