Just as it was not enough for the bread to be broken and the wine to be poured out, but they had to eat and drink, so it was not enough for him to die, but they had to appropriate the benefits of his death personally. The eating and drinking were, and still are, a vivid acted parable of receiving Christ as our crucified Saviour and of feeding on him in our hearts by faith.

Cancer, divorce, death…these were sad words that elicited sympathy and condolences from me for others.

But they took on a whole new meaning when they came knocking at the door of my family.

In the same way, I knew in theory that 20/20 vision was possible. But when I put on my first pair of glasses and saw (!!!) for myself, I have never been the same.

For good or bad, Christianity is meant to be personal. That is the only way to understand and receive.

The ONE THING for today: “Jesus died for me.” That’s the message of Christianity. And only until we accept and receive Christ’s sacrifice personally will Christianity truly become a living faith that actually impacts our life.
