The Old Home Place

So Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beersheba, and offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac. _Genesis 46:1

In all your goings and comings, don’t forget to make time to occasionally stop by the old home place.

That’s what Israel (Jacob) did on the last journey of his life. He stopped by the home place…where his parents lived and where he grew up.

If you know the story of Jacob you know that there were a lot of memories at the old home place. Not all of them were good memories but they were his memories. And most important, the old family altar was there.

The ONE THING for today: Going to visit the old home place and other family sacred sites reminds you where you came from and that is a good thing to remember. But more importantly, it can give you guidance on how to get where you’re going…and that’s even better.
