We Are in This World, but Not of This World

I have been shaken and stirred by God’s Spirit today, and reminded with a deep stirring of my heart of what is important. I sincerely offer the following scriptures and admonition.

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalted itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” II Corinthians 10:4-5

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take into you the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand in the evil day, and having done all to stand, Stand therefore….” Ephesians 6:12-14

“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31

“….Fear not: They that be with us are more than they that be with them.” II Kings 6:16

“For the angel of the Lord is a guard; he surrounds and defends all who fear Him.” Psalms 34:7NLT

The Bible reading, praying, born again, totally committed to Christ Christian, has absolutely nothing to fear in this world. We are “more than conquerors through Him that loved us.” Even if you have grown weak of late by trusting in men, nations, leaders and things other than God, you can return to the cross of Christ, and the scripture emphatically declares “Draw nigh to God and He will draw nigh to you.” James 4:8

Please listen to this totally God-dependent, servant of the Lord. Forget elections, corrupt politicians, dysfunctional congresses, twisted government institutions, money driven media, morally decayed film industries, carnally minded acquaintances and things that will all soon fade, decay and be blown into insignificance like chaff from a threshing floor.

Read your Bible, pray and seek God’s face, be a loving, kind and yet fearless witness for Christ. Lean on the everlasting arms of God that never fail. As my Grandpa’s favorite song said “Hold to God’s Unchanging Hand”.

Wake up Christians!! Shake yourselves!! We are in this world but we are not of this world…. and we are getting ready to leave this world.
