A Ribbon in Her Hair

“Every person is my superior in some way.”

_Personal axiom

When a mom puts a ribbon in her little girl’s hair it is not to make her pretty, but to call attention to how pretty she is.

Unfortunately, that little girl only has one mom. There are currently close to eight billion other people out there, most of whom would make little to no effort to encourage that little girl or seek to enhance her beauty or any other attribute, talent, or giftedness she may have.

This is true, not because they are bad people, most aren’t. They’re just busy people occupied with their own issues.

So…

Just think what a potent force for good you could be if you made it your daily agenda to go through life pointing out the good and note-worthy in the people you meet along the way.

One last thing, do this to their face and also behind their back.

The ONE THING for today: It’s been said that love works today while it waits for tomorrow. This I know, even the worse among us is made in the image of God and thus has some good in them. Let’s make it our job to find the good in others and believe that on some tomorrow they will believe it too, and live accordingly.

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
Philippians 4:8
