ARE PEOPLE AWARE THAT VERSE 26 AND VERSE 27 OF DANIEL 9 OVERLAP? Many are still confused about the 70 weeks of Daniel 9. They believe the lie that there is a gap of 2000 years between verse 26 and 27. However Daniel never even hinted that there is such a thing. Why would God have a gap, if Christ said on the cross, “It is finished”, John [19:28](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0IiHupeUeKU&t=1168s)-30. The only reason God gave the Jews an extra 70 weeks is not for their sake, but to fulfill the promise he made to Abraham, that a seed of his will be Messiah. God already divorced the kingdom of Israel and Judah and send them into exile, Jeremiah 3:6-10, Isaiah 50:1. But in order to fulfill prophecy the Jews had to return to the land of Judah so Messiah would be born there.

  1. Kyle Hornsey says:

For starters, Edith, Daniel did not give the prophecy of 70 weeks, Gabriel did. Gabriel separated the 70th Week from the 69 before it that culminated in unspecified desolations. (I seem to recall you mocking others for not being able to read English properly)
So God has finished with the nation of Israel forever, despite promising repeatedly that He never would?

  2. Roberto Barba says:

God at no time in scripture divorced Judea. Only 10 tribes received divorce. Benjamin joined to Judah, the remaining two tribes, who were never divorced.
Your stating that all 12 tribes were divorced is wrong, and from where the false doctrine of replacement theology comes from.
Furthermore, God promises to restore those 10 tribes into the marriage covenant, and reunite all 12 tribes of the children of Israel.
This is not the Gentiles. These are Israelites.

  3. Edith Neumaier says:

Kyle Hornsey Listen to my video, I did not say he is finished with them, they can now accept him as Messiah as well in the same way the gentiles can accept him.

  4. Jone Varea says:

Christ in his own words recorded in Matthew and Luke explained the abomination that caused the desolation of Dan 9:27….that verse specifically deals with the Messiah…and the end of the prophecy. The Jews failed to understand the 70 week Prophecy and they nailed the Messiah to the cross and continue to offer sacrifices which is an abomination to the lord…the Messiah’s death in the middle of the 70th week ceased the sacrifice and offerings because he is the lamb slain from the foundation of the world…

  5. Faye Rod says:

This video is an example of misreading the Scriptures. When she quotes from Isaiah she is claiming God divorced Judah when in fact it is the exact opposite. God is asking “where is the divorce certificate of your mother” THERE IS NONE!
    Read the passage in context:-
Isaiah 49:25For this is what the LORD says: “Even the captives of the mighty will be taken away, and the plunder of the tyrant will be retrieved; I will contend with those who contend with you, and I will save your children. 26 I will make your oppressors eat their own flesh, and they will be drunk on their own blood, as with sweet wine. Then all mankind will know that I, the LORD, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”
Isaiah 50:1 This is what the LORD says: “Where is your mother’s certificate of divorce with which I sent her away? Or to which of My creditors did I sell you? Look, you were sold for your iniquities, and for your transgressions your mother was sent away.
People should read Hosea to the end and see the harlot returns to her husband!
Romans 11 read carefully, combined with Rev 20 shows Israel is blinded during the times of the gentiles that we are now in. When that time is fulfilled there is the promise of Israels regathering.
Isaiah 50:2b Is My hand too short to redeem you? Or do I lack the strength to deliver you?

  6. Jone Varea says:

Jesus spoke of that abomination that caused the desolation of the temple in Jerusalem that was destroyed by the Romans in70 AD….thus that is never a future Prophecy…. The idea to add 2000yr between Vs 25 and 27 and still call it a 70 week Prophecy is a lie.

  7. Ike Khensay says:

The church despensation is a parenthesis in the 69th & 70th week of Daniel. There is no mention of the Church in the book of Daniel. God is not yet finished w/ the nation of israel. The numbers of the gentile converts must be first c6mpleted before God resolve the blindness in part of Israel. Rom.11:25-29

    >>>Dan 9 : 24-27 is very clear, period ! 70 weeks were determined for his people, the Jews. The 69th week ended with the crucifixion of Jesus = cut off, ok ? One more week is yet to be fulfilled after the church age or the church rapture. This 70th week or 7 yrs will be the coming terrible 7-yr tribulation for the Jews, period ! Is this not clear enough ?

  9. Evangelist Prosperity Peter says:

  11. Lori Talbert says:

Why do people keep claiming there is no gap in Dan 9 after the 69th week… in vs 26 it says AFTER the 69th week Messiah will be cut off and the city destroyed. There is plenty of evidence right there that there is a gap and the 70th week doesn’t follow the 69th. First it says AFTER… not how long after! IF that is a 1 week period then why is it almost 40 years between Christ’s death and the destruction of the city in 70AD rather than 7 years?Seems to be a GAP there! And both those things happen between the 69th and 70th weeks. The 70th week then starts in vs 27 with the confirming of the covenant. Nothing in vs 26 is the 70th week it is just AFTER the 69th week… so not only is there an undefined gap but the covenant has nothing to do with Christ’s death. It may not say a 2000 year gap in Daniel but there IS a gap that is not defined. Then look at Hosea 6:2 in speaking of Israel’s repentance it says… After TWO DAYS will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight… two prophetic days are 2000 years! Israel will be revived after 2000 years then after another 1000 years, they will be raised up to live IN HIS SITE! Sounds like the gap before His second coming to me!

  12. Robert Hunt says:

Not sure why you would call one theory a lie. That does not make your theory true. There are two popular theories on this topic, and neither one has been proven correct. It’s still part of the mystery.

  13. John Prewett says:

“Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of THIS prophecy….. “
    Revelation 1:3

Note the blessing does NOT depend on having read or consulted any other book in the Bible.
Or any other book at all.

  14. Barth Emeka Ikeagwuonu says:

Daniel’s 70 weeks of years isn’t about the physical Israel. It’s a shortened period of time, in which the Spiritual Israel (that’s the Church) will go through the Great tribulation. It’s the time when the Spiritual Jerusalem and temple of God (that’s the Church) will be divided into two, namely :the Inner and the Outer Courts, with the latter being temporarily given to the unbelievers. (Rev. 11 :1-2, Zec. 14:2) And this shortened 70yrs of tribulation has already fulfilled upon the Church. What now remains is for the Church to be raptured out of the Great tribulation.

  15. Edith Neumaier says:

Are people aware that verse 26 and 27 of Daniel 9 overlap? Which so much in prophecy does. verse 26 “and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.” This is the end of the 70th week.
verse 27 … he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.” Again desolation to the end.
Both beginnings 26 and 27 is about Messiah confirming a covenant.
26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and this 7 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, Is about Messiah and the same time period. This is important and God made sure Daniel stresses it twice. But thank you for bringing this up this is a valuable point and a reason why people get confused.

  16. Paul Bortolazzo says:

Why is there a gap between the 69th and 70th weeks of Daniel?

‘So Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.’ Hebrews 9:28

During His 1st coming, Jesus fulfilled the first four Feasts of His redemptive career: Passover (1 Cor. 5:7), Unleavened Bread (Mat. 26:17), First Fruits (1 Cor. 15:23) and Weeks (Acts 2:1-4)

During His 2nd coming Jesus will fulfill the Feast of Trumpets (Mat. 24:30-31), the Day of Atonement (Acts 1:6-11, Heb. 9:28, Dan. 9:24, Rom. 11:25-27, Rev. 10:7) and the Feast of Tabernacles (Rev. 14:1-4) This is why there will be a gap between the end of the 69th week and the beginning of the 70th week of Daniel. (Dan. 9:24-27)
