**DOES “FIRSTBORN” MEAN JESUS WAS CREATED?**

Ephraim was referred to as firstborn (Jeremiah 31:9), even though he was the younger (Genesis 41:51–52).
# Jeremiah 31:9

They shall come with weeping, And with supplications I will lead them. I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters, In a straight way in which they shall not stumble; For I am a Father to Israel, And Ephraim *is* >>>My firstborn.<<< # Genesis 41:51-52 **51 **Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: “For God has made me forget all my toil and all my father’s house.” **52 **>>>And the name of the second he called Ephraim<<<: “For God has caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.” So if your quest is to rob Jesus of His deity, like JW attempt to do, you carelessly overlook the simple fact that ‘firstborn,’ like so many other words, can have a dual meaning. Firstborn, regarding Jesus, in no way implies that He is created, when multiple Biblical writers pen Him as Creator God!

  1. Doreen A. Asañon says:

Jesus Christ was also called the “firstborn” from the dead. Firstborn doesn’t necessarily mean “firstborn from creation” but in Hebrew, it also has a symbolic meaning of being the “first” or the “one in the highest degree”.

  2. Jereme McAlpin says:

First born does not mean that Jesus was created. First Born is a title. Think of it like this, Esa was born first he had the birth right. Jacob was born second but ended up with the title of First Born and with that title comes the inheritance. Jesus has the title of First Born because everything that was created was for Him.

No.. John says in the beginning…… and the word was God

  4. Angela Spencer says:

Agree. Also said that about David, but I’m not sure of which scriptures. Firstborn means “preeminent” in that context. Thank you for sharing those other scriptures because I have been trying to explain that in my study with witnesses. Trying to show them!

  5. John Watson says:

It’s anthropomorphic language, Jesus is not a created being.

    Genesis 1:26 ESV
[26] Then God said, “Let us make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

    John 1:1-3 ESV
[1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] He was in the beginning with God. [3] All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.

There’s no Biblical support for the claim that Jesus is a created being.

  6. Thawn Boih says:

    Jeus is the Creator
“All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
    John 1:3 KJV

Hmm, good question, but Jesus was borne from Mary, it was prophesied that Jesus would come from the Davidic line, when Christ was born, he was fully man and fully God, I always consider John 1:14, the Word became flesh, He was the same Word that thru Him everything was made

Shall we say, then, that Yeshua was not a man? …and that He, in His humanity, did not descend from Eve, the mother of all the living? Was it not said that her seed shall overcome the serpent’s seed?

Of a Truth, the Word is God and is before all things and by the Word of God all things exist by Him and for Him. Question: who is speaker of the house?

What is it, my friends to be begotten not made? Juxtapose Adam 1 and Adam 2 and see. One made in God’s image the other born of woman to become “the express Image of invisible God” … thus fulfilling the Word in the beginning “let us make man in our image and in our likeness and give him dominion”. Yeshua, Son of God/Son of man. Firstborn of all “creation”. Only “begotten” of the Father. Father/Son… One in Yeshua Messiah.

    Firstborn in Spirit Acts 13

  10. Roxy Wade says:

    JESUS CREATOR GOD…

    Colossians 1:15-17
15 He [Jesus] is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn >>>over all creation.<<< 16 For >>>by Him [Jesus] >all< things were created<<< that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. >>>All things were created through Him [Jesus]<<< and for Him. 17 And >>>He [Jesus] is before all things,<<< and in Him all things consist. Is Jesus a co-Creator God or God? Isaiah 44:24 Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, --- JESUS IS OUR REDEEMER! And He who formed you from the womb: >>>“I am the Lord, who makes all things,<<< Who stretches out the heavens >>>all alone,<<< Who spreads abroad the earth >>>by Myself;<<< Answer? God!

  11. Roxy Wade says:

The Book of Isaiah is nicknamed the 5th Gospel or the Book of John of the Old Testament. This is ‘Who’’ God’s Prophet Isaiah says the First and the Last is!

    Isaiah 44:6

    There Is No Other God

“Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel,
And his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts:
    >>>‘I am the First and I am the Last;
Besides Me there is no God.<<< John, an eyewitness, who walked with Jesus, quoted Jesus’ words: Revelation 1:17 And when I ---John--- saw Him ---Jesus---, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; >>>I am the First and the Last.<<<

  12. Dan Waenet says:

    Begotten. Not created.

  13. Billy Detzel says:

No. It means preeminent. First place. Heir apparent.
