There’s actually a lot of foul and vulgar language used in scripture, especially if you use word studies and find the literal translations. A viper was one of the rudest things you could call a person during Christ ministry.
Vulgarity is used just notice that it’s used in a very specific way.

Agreed we shouldn’t swear but everyone does at least occasionally. Even a couple of times heard my strict Christian grandma swear. No one is perfect

Looks like a lot of people want to create loopholes. But as Christians we aren’t supposed to mirror the world, we are to be different:

I feel sorry for the person who lets’s descriptive words, get to them. I have way better shit to do.

I do want to point out that words are also dependent on the spirit in which they are spoken in, substituting words doesn’t change the intent of them, it is a matter of the heart. Just because we say “Fudge” instead of the F word doesn’t change the reality of what is in our heart. Just a thought.

A spring cannot have both fresh and bitter water. Although different kinds of water won’t bubble from the same opening. Christians speech can be very inconsistent. One time we may speak in a way that honors God and another time in a way that give Satan power to operate. We can choose how we will respond. Only a renewed heart can produce pure speech. If the source of our thoughts and actions is the love of God in our lives, then we will not be able to generate the kind of negative speech that harm us.

Kindly provide a list of all the appropriate and inappropriate language please. I was told I can’t say ____ I should say duck feathers. Which is weird, and obviously everybody knows what I’m thinking. I have also been told I can’t say ____ but I can say bowel-movement…but some people say I can / can’t say poop / crap. So I’m confused. Am I enslaved to others peoples offenses or is there an authoritative list in scripture someplace? And oh my, I just found out what the word ‘dork’ really means…

HoweverKeep this is mind, dont use this post to bash them over the head with it. We are way to judgmental already. You do not know people or their life, dont judge. Cause these people might be a baby Christian, or not Christian at all. Everyone is at a different level in their walk with Christ. Let God be the one to work on there heart, if you do it and might make things worse. Let go, let God, dont judge another mans servant. Dont let ego, and a diluted attempt to christianize people be your guide. We are all different respect that and Gods work.

When I suppressed cussing it made me anxious, it’s a stress reliever. But I’ll never use God’s name in any cuss word.

I get just as much out of saying Oh as any of the usual tedious curses. Same old curses, is no one intelligent enough to come up with new ones? ohhh OH! Oh? Oh– Oh. OHHHHHH

I agree to an extent. Cussing in public in regular speech is not good and needs to be controlled. However, when you are mad or hurt it relieves alot more stress than “shoot”. Cussing at a person is definitely wrong because that is cursing the image of God
