He, and He Alone, Must be Lifted Up

The historical hour we currently live in is saturated with prophetical signs that tell us how urgent the mission of Christ really is on this earth. The church and every Christian must be absorbed in and totally committed to the exaltation of Jesus Christ. He himself tells us why this is required in John 12:32 when He said, “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.”

The Apostle Paul was consumed with lifting up Christ and Christ alone. His powerful exhortation in Galatians 6:14 is a warning and commanded admonition to every Christian and especially every Christian leader, who, like Paul, has other Christians looking to them for guidance.Listen to the great Apostle warn the Galatian church, “But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.” Galatians 6:14

In a world of super cyber media and social media saturation, we have a clear choice. We can use it to exalt Christ and his wondrous, redeeming grace and works among men, reaching out with His message, and the church’s benevolent care to the poor and disenfranchised, or we can exalt and promote our own carnal and self serving agendas, promoting ourself instead of Christ. Never forget the warning of Holy Scripture,” And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased..” Matthew 23:12

The hour is so short….the harvest is so ripe… the needs of a dying world, infected with the cancer of sin is so great….that self-promotion and exaltation is the bane and scourge of the modern-day church and is in direct conflict with Christ’s teaching that He, and He alone, must be lifted up. Though he said it centuries ago on the verge of his death… I stand with the John the Baptist…

“He must increase, but I must decrease.” John 3:30
