I am reflecting on the hurt and unrest going on due to the injustice felt by the Black community especially. I do not judge any of their actions or feelings (the few who have participated in riots, not the peaceful protest) as I have not experienced racial discrimination or oppression, and as my community is responsible for a lot of what is going on today. As a follower of Christ, I think we need to do more than just share scripture, as we are called to love all men. To me, loving someone is caring about what they have to say and share (and even humbling ourselves and asking for forgiveness). So for those in the Black community (or any minority community), besides showing that Jesus is the only way, would we be more loving in a practical way by really taking the time to really listen to your stories and experiences? Else what do you feel we as Christians can practically do?

Dan, don’t do that, don’t take the blame for something that you didn’t do. I’m black, I’m not oppressed, the problems that are plaguing black America isn’t because of racism, don’t believe the liberal press; they have an agenda. They created this monster, police aren’t hunting black men. human beings have a sin problem.

Let’s show how to lament, how to listen, how to love those who are different from yourself, how to empathize.
I will definitely pray about this in the pastoral prayer. I’ll pray for the Floyd family, for peace in Minneapolis and around the country, and for justice. I’ll pray for the officers who were fired and the officer who was arrested. I’ll pray for those in our own community who fear this could happen to them. I’ll pray for law enforcement officers in our church, and in general, for courage and restraint. I’ll pray for our society’s divisions to be healed. And I’ll pray that the government would have wisdom to balance and answer the competing claims of justice, security, due process, and freedom of speech.

Suggest that you remember people are also oppressed by their own bad behavior, and that you look into how extensive the issue of young men being raised without a father really is in the U.S., especialy young black men.
