Tô beget or begotten:. Jesus was brought into existence by his Father. There was a point he never existed. The most high God the father of Jesus is from everlasting to everlasting

Acts 13:33
[33]God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up ((Jesus)) again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, >>this day have I begotten thee.<<

  1. You are trying to apply Webster’s dictionary definition of an English word to the meaning of a Greek term which refers to the uniqueness of Christ. This is absolute heresy! The Son is eternal along with the Father and Holy Spirit. John chapter 1 is more than clear about this and so is the rest of scripture.

  2. John 17:5 And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory ?that I had with you before the world existed.?

  3. Are you talking Spiritually or physically?
Christ was the voice walking in the garden of Eden, so when using the word Beget or begotten, one is referencing the physical form, the Son of Man instead of the Spiritual form, Son of God.

    What is not understood here?

  4. That’s referring to the Flesh ? how about the Spirit? Because the Lord Jesus Christ is

100%Man – Flesh (Son of Man)
100% God – Spirit (Son of God)

  5. This again?

    Colossians 1:15-17

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.
17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

  6. Jesus said “before Abraham was, I AM”

Begot means born of, only his flesh/incarnation was born (made manifest in the flesh).. God made/created Adam but show me where in the bible it says “God begot Adam”..

Cain was the first baby born and born corrupt, Jesus was the first baby born of God and Godliness. Think about that 🙂

Christ IS the ‘I AM’ who always was

  7. I love how these false teachers always refer to the English, instead of the Greek.

The English word ‘begotten’, is a translation of the Greek word ‘μονογενής’.

Monogenes has two primary definitions, “pertaining to being the only one of its kind within a specific relationship” and “pertaining to being the only one of its kind or class, unique in kind”.[1] Thus monogenēs (μονογενής) may be used both as an adjective monogenēs pais, meaning unique and special.[2] Its Greek meaning is often applied to mean “one of a kind, one and only”. Monogenēs may be used as an adjective.

The Greek word μονογενής does not imply that Christ was created, or that there was a time when He was not.

The Bible says the exact opposite. Jesus recollected His existence as a self conscious rational entity alongside the Father in John 17:

“And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭17:5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

    – Jesus was with the Father before the world was.

“For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.”
    ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1:16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

    – Jesus was alongside the Father as a self conscious rational entity, and He is the one through whom all things were created.

    Thanks

  8. This is heresy! It is Arianism. The Council of Nicaea rejected such false teaching in 325 AD! Isaiah 9:6 points to the coming Christ, “For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.” Also, Christ refers to himself as the great “I Am” in John 8:58, Before Abraham was born, I AM.”

  9. You need to look up this word in Greek not English! μονογενής, ές- only, only-begotten; unique. So, it refers to a type of relationship. Jesus was NOT created, Jesus has existed eternally.

  10. The man, Jesus Christ, was brought into existence. That is to say, His earthly flesh was made and not eternal. Jesus’ essence as God, however, is eternal.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us…” [Jn.1:1,14].

  11. So, we know that Jesus always was because, “1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. 5 The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.” (John 1:1-4)

14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14)

This scripture proves that Jesus was with the Father God in the beginning and was God in the beginning. Yet they were separate. Furthermore, it proves that Jesus became flesh, or was born. How else is prophecy of the Messiah supposed to be fulfilled if Jesus was not μονογενής (begotten)? Jesus is the only μονογενής son of God to become flesh. “Therefore, the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.” Isaiah 7:14. “30 The angel said to her, “22 Now all this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet: 23 “BEHOLD, THE VIRGIN SHALL BE WITH CHILD AND SHALL BEAR A SON, AND THEY SHALL CALL HIS NAME IMMANUEL,” which translated means, “GOD WITH US.” 24 And Joseph awoke from his sleep and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took Mary as his wife,” (Matthew 1:22-24) Jesus being μονογενής of God and Mary, a virgin, fulfills Isaiah’s prophecy, for Jesus to become the Messiah.

Last, In the I AM statements that Jesus made, in John’s Gospel, He declares Himself God, “I AM” that He was the ἐγώ … εἰμί – (ego … imee). This is like saying I AM I AM. This is similar to, in the Hebrew, when, “God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM”; and He said, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you’”” (Exodus 3:14).

  12. John 1:1 Context

    1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2. The same was in the beginning with God 3. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4. in him was life; and the life was the light of men.

  13. The original Greek is monogenes….

Which means one & only, unique.

Begotten is a bad KJV translation.

    Silly arian…..

  14. brah. calm your Arianism read the Athanasius’ incarnation of the Word. He clarifies all of this. leave this heresy and read the Fathers of the Church.

  15. Wrong. God is Spirit. The body of Yeshua was created, but not His Spirit, as His Spirit is eternally uncreated.

  16. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
    Matthew 28:19 NIV

  17. No, Jesus was not brought into existence by the father. He existed eternally with the father. Theology 101.

  18. He took on a human form He was always Himself. He took the form of a human to become a sacraficial lamb for humanitys redemption.Hes pre-existing.
