They looked to their works to save, instead of looking to Jesus

    To be completely honest:

I believe its all of the people who are “Bandwagon Christians” the ones who don’t practice what they preach. The ones who either dont actually go to church, or the ones who go to church but then don’t actually do anything to enrich their faith.

The “Christians” who are poor in spirit.

A tree that bears no fruit is as good as dead.

  3. Steven Wells says:

    Illiterate and decieved sinners

  4. Catherine Casey says:

Wolves that’s who they are, wolves that came amongst the saints and made merchandise of them. They never sought Jesus for salvation but rather lofty positions, money, and power. Their hearts were never changed, they were merciless devourers who actually believed they had fooled even God.

  5. Ed Weems says:

It could be referring to those that keep the first day of the week opposed to the Sabbath hence the word iniquity, lawlessness. The Sabbath has not been changed it is still one of the Ten Commandments, the fourth Commandment is inside the Ark of the Covenant, and if you read Isaiah 56 what we are offered to take hold of the new Everlasting Covenant the Sabbath is mentioned before the offer is made.

These are religious people. Based on how i understand this scripture, they do religious works. ‘church works’. But Jesus doesnt know them and rejects them because they dont really have a relationship with Jesus. And thats sad, dedicating your whole life to a thing you thought will save you.

He said that to and about Israel who was required to do works of the law to prove their faith. No gentile is ever told to do miracles and wonders.

  8. Madison Willoughby says:

I think these verses refer to Matthew 24:24 where false prophets, who will get their power from Satan, will rise up in the name of Jesus to deceive people with great signs and wonders. Matthew 24:24 takes place during the second half of the Tribulation after Satan has indwelled the man of lawlessness and become the antichrist.
