Gleaning the Minutes of the COG 2014 minutes financial section reveals a Church in trouble financially. The balance on hand in August 31, 2014 is $318!!! The balance on August 31, 2013 was a negative ($140,831).

Receipts from the field in 2013 was $20 million and receipts for 2014 was $20 million.

You probably do a much better job managing your personal finances than the denomination. (reminds one of the Federal Government)

World missions does much better with receipts and disbursements. 2013 and 2014 each year is around $25 million with a balance of 2 – 3 million dollars.

University Of Lee had a balance in 2013 of $10 million and a balance of negative ($13,609,291) in August 31, 2014.

I wish I could understand the breakdown of disbursements however the various ministries are operating on a tight budget.

I would like to know the breakdown of executive salaries and I would assume it is not a profitable place for one to work.

The Publishing house had a closing balance of $175,000. I assume it is rewarding to be employed with the publishing house.

    U sure waste a bunch of time talking about something u don’t know much about that’s 2 yrs old. U must not have much to do….maybe u should broadcast your finances….just thinking…hmmmm….

    Who really cares about the financial results for the church hierarchy. Their going to do what they want to do, and qualify their results to the rest of c the church and we will except it. Like its always been.
    So it’s just a waist of time to debate it,then you get bombed on by someone that obviously is disturbed by whatever point you were trying to make.

    All denominations are likely suffering financially and also in terms of diminishing membership and attendance. Increasing local church closures is becoming the norm.

    The centralized hierarchical structures will collapse first.

    It would be interesting to see how other denominations are faring!

    Had lunch Tue. with a retired payroll clerk for the publishing house. In recent years payroll has been cut more than half and the actual printing is now done overseas.

    I would argue that managing funds for a denomination is a thousand times more complicated than a household budget. Major trends in society whiplash the church. COG members are in all likelihood spending more on cell phones and cable TV than they are on their church.

    On the other hand ministries like Joyce Meyers takes in 100 million per year. She does this primarily from women’s money and without an emphasis on tithing or storehouse imagery. This is something new under the sun.

    When I friended this site, I thought I was joining a page that would be inspirational and exciting to communicate with 9ther Christians. But I find it is a page determined to degrade and disrespect pastors and those in the administration of the Curch of God. I’m not saying they are perfect but we’ve served the Church of God for 44 years and my husband has for 50 years. We have had ups and downs but I’m very proud that I’ve served God with this wonderful organization. Of they are in the wrong, the individual people will stand before God. The organization does not make me a Christian, Christ does. I follow the Word of God, not the minutes of the church. I no longer wish to be a part of this page, please remove my name.

    Wanda, I hear your complaint but for my part the posts are meant to be truthful and fruitful in the sense that it prods us to think a little deeper. There are some real challenges and I have faith to believe that God has the answer, providing we are open to new ideas.

    When Charles mentioned the $ 20 million above I got to comparing with other ministries and with what individuals such as movie stars and sports heros take in; one female star ( Jennifer Aniston ) took in $ 57 million and several athletes rack up more than $ 20 million per year. It’s a crazy world with many distorted values. On the other hand I would estimate that the Perry Stone ministry may well take in $ 20 million or even more. So when you consider the widespread infrastructure the COG is responsible for: one can see that $ 20 million is not enough.

    Isn’t it funny how football & sports or Hollywood can make millions & if a ministry takes in $$$, it’s frowned upon. They never consider the cost to run a ministry or how much goes back out.
