In the Garden with Adam & Eve, they heard the sound of God walking in the garden in the cool day.

If God is Spirit (John 4:24)

Who was it that was walking (Christ Jesus in flesh and bone?)? Would you take this as a literal sense or as an anthropomorphic sense.

Yea I believe it was God in the flesh, Jesus. We are made in His “image” both spiritually and physically.

Good question. I’m inclined to agree with John Maya Sr. above me, but I don’t have enough information to debate with confidence or passion. Following.

Ressurected body is a spiritual body(1 Cor 15:44). However, when Jesus went to his disciples they were able to touch Him and even saw the nail marks on His hands(Jn 20:24-29). This situation was a manifestation of God’s power since God is Omniscient.

So, also in the Garden of Eden.

  4. Donna Mcgann says:

I believe that he is a spirit and the word walking is just a reference for him moving in Eden.

“God is Spirit.” …. 8 “And they heard …. the Voice of the LORD God …. walking in the garden …. in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves …. from the presence …. of the LORD God …. amongst the trees of the garden.

9 And the LORD God called …. unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?

10 And he said, I heard …. Thy Voice …. in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.” – https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Genesis-Chapter-3/ and wherein did the prophet hear the Voice of God …. the small Voice …. heard? …. for God the Father is not of flesh and blood …. but Spirit, the Holy One of Divine Truth and Life Eternal, Who then sent His Holy Word to the virgin, and took flesh from her, so that He then walked the earth …. to come forth and be the Holy Lamb of God by which the souls of man kind – whosoever – might be saved and saved forevermore. Amen and Amen.

    Exodus 33:22-23(KJB)

22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:
23 And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen

God is God, if God wants to take on human form, He can. God is, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

God appears as we need him…kinda like in the movie The Shack. That’s how I see it. People have put God in a box to try to understand him. People need to think bigger. Like God big.

    – Genesis 3:8 (as you mentioned) speaks of God walking in the garden in the breeze of the day.

    – Daniel 3:8-25 where Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were throw into the fire and the fourth person looked like “the Son of Man, Son of God, Son of the gods.” Those are different ways different translations translate that expression.

    – Exodus 33:11 speaks of Moses talking to God face to face like a man speaks to his friend. But in a few verses later, verse 20, God tells Moses that “you cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live.”

I take all three as the second person of the trinity having a part in these narratives. The Exodus passage is not a contradiction. It shows both persons of the God head interacting with Moses.
