“JESUS IS NOT GOD”

2 Corinthians19: that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

It says God was in Christ. (WAS)

this verse backs up John 1:1, In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

And we are to be IN Christ.

Since God was in Christ, it makes sense that Jesus’ words were God’s words. Now, think with me, Jesus wasn’t God,(It doesn’t feel right saying that lol) God was IN Him. That’s what makes him fully God and full man. Jesus did say ” I AM’ and because God cannot lie He told them that Jesus was His son. Jesus said, “I am. And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.”

Jesus was created and was with God at the beginning, like a secret weapon. John 1:2 He was at the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him, nothing was made that was made.

That’s what makes Jesus so special. God chose the man name Jesus Christ to be a sheep sacrifice for our sins. And God crowed him and gave him all authority. Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

I was at a bible study and these things came up while reading the verse.

I AM NOT SAYING JESUS IS NOT GOD.

What do you think about this? And how would you respond to this claim?

Interesting observation, but what day you about these two verses?

Colossians 2:8-10 8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

Philippians 2:5-11 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
    10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

  4. Jeremy Rush says:

God the father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are coeternal. They have never been separated they have always existed as one God. You cannot have one without the other. God the son did come to earth to be born of a virgin never losing his divinity known as the hypostatic Union. Jesus was not simply born he has always existed.

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven. Col 1

Johnathan , only you can choose to believe or not believe ,read the scripture and find the answer .Be humble ,

  7. Angie Miller says:

God was in Christ, but it also says the Word was God. God built the temple he dwelt in as he built your temple and put his life-giving Spirit in it.

God is invisible, so he can only be seen through the temple in which he dwels.

Jesus is all of God you are going to see.

  10. Angie Miller says:

1 Kings 8:27 But WILL God INDEED DWELL on the EARTH? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens CANNOT CONTAIN thee; HOW MUCH LESS this HOUSE (BODY, TEMPLE) that I have BUILDED.

    Acts 2:36
“Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath MADE (FORMED, BUILT) that SAME Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.”

    Acts 7:48
Howbeit the MOST HIGH DWELLETH NOT in TEMPLES MADE WITH HANDS; as saith the prophet.

John 2:19-21 King James Version (KJV)

19 Jesus answered and said unto them, DESTROY this TEMPLE, and in three days I will RAISE it up.

20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?

21 But he spake of the TEMPLE of HIS BODY.

  11. Athan Jon says:

    this is the true antiChrist,??

  12. Andre Jansen says:

The Word became flesh(the word is God)Jesus is God in flesh form same as anyone, same temptation endured,Jesus was only obedient to the voice of his father thus able to do what he did and that is the template to follow

  13. Angie Miller says:

    Andre Jansen

How can the Word be God and not the Father?

One God and Father who is above all, through all and in you all.

It’s God, the Father in flesh.

  14. Toni Armstrong says:

The flesh was made for the eternal Spirit to dwell in

  15. Illde Abuyen says:

Where in the 2 Corinthians that verse you quoted? let’s study the context before we quote the verse…

  16. Toni Armstrong says:

When your father is the Holy Spirit and you’re called the son of God then that means you are God in flesh

  17. Ross Duncan says:

    Someone doesn’t understand the Trinity

  18. Stephen Valenta says:

Love all the comments by people who CLEARLY haven’t read the entire post. ?‍♂️

  19. Christopher Carver says:

Jesus Christ clearly saw Himself as YHVH
    Isaiah 41:4;44:6;48:12
    Revelation 1:17;2:8
YHVH is the First and Last correct? Yes
Jesus Carver is the First and Last? Correct
This means Jesus Christ is Jehovah? Correct

  20. Christopher Carver says:

Who is the first and last? It can only be Jehovah according to Isaiah 48:12-13
Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last.

13 Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.

  21. Christopher Carver says:

But Revelation 2:8 says Jesus is the First and the Last
    And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;
    which is correct? Both

  22. Toni Armstrong says:

Jesus is God because the Spirit came and dwelt in flesh in order to reconcile us to himself. The Spirit is invisible and therefore by coming as one of us he made the invisible visible so we may know him.

  23. Christopher Carver says:

    And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says: ‘Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, And seeing you will see and not perceive;

  24. Jeff W Strawther says:

His name “Immanuel” means God is with us. Christ even called Himself “I AM.” The Jews understood this as Him calling Himself God which is why they were going to stone Him.

  25. Jeff W Strawther says:

Also, Thomas after placing his finger in the holes left by the nails in Jesus hands proclaimed “my Lord my God” in (John 20:28) Jesus would have rebuked him for calling Him God.

  26. Joseph Dunbar says:

NO! You meant “Jesus Is NOT DEAD”!

  27. Max Wolfe says:

I would say the point you are attempting to make is unclear. However, the statement that Jesus is not good is a false claim, because Jesus lived without sin, which is the very definition of good, perfect even. So it’s a ridiculous claim in order to make an unclear point, presumably to stir crap for your own amusement. Shame on you, bro.

  28. John Marquis says:

There is a proliferation of competent theologians who gave addressed this issue, go read one of them

  29. Christopher Carver says:

If Jesus is a creature this is blasphemous Revelation 5:13
And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

  30. Terence Sowers says:

Johnatan Matias Let’s look at the first verse you gave in context:
“18 Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you” (2 Corinthians 5:18-20)

To shorten this post, I will focus on your concern. The word Christ, is Χριστός Christos (Pronounced khris-tos’), which means: Messiah. So yes, God the Father was in the Messiah. “19 Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner.”

All this is while Jesus was on earth as a Human.

  31. Andre Jansen says:

    To God be the glory
Praise and worship to his son Jesus
    Thanking his Holy Spirit

Grace and peace to you from God almighty the father and his son Our Lord King Saviour Jesus

  32. Angie Miller says:

So then it is God, the Father reconciling the world unto himself. So the man was his temple? And he revealed his highest name, the salvation name of the Father Jesus.

  33. Angie Miller says:

    Jesus is Lord from heaven

  34. Jun Calvez says:

That teaching is heresy. That contradicts the doctrine of the Holy Trinity which is an essential doctrine of Christianity.

Jesus said “I and the Father are one” (Jn 10:30). And all the “I Am” statements of Jesus in the book of John are His claims that he is the I AM, who is God Himself.

In Revelation 22:12-13, it says “Look, I am coming soon!..” who is coming again? That’s Jesus. And He continues in v13, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”

Now compare that to Rev. 21:5-6, “He who was seated on the throne…” that is God the Father. Then in v6, the Father said, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End…”

So, how can we reconcile this? Both Jesus and the Father are claiming to be the Alpha and the Omega.

Again Jesus said, “I and the Father are one”

The scripture testifies that Jesus is God.

  35. John Campbell says:

Jesus Christ is not a created being. Simply enough?

  36. Darryl Lare says:

Maybe if you read pertaining to the virgin birth ( Isaiah 7:15 ; Matthew 1:23) notice in 23 where it says ,” God with us”?

  37. Yafet Assefa says:

U doing great. . But jesus was not created but he is the creator,
“For we are his workmanship, #created in Christ Jesus unto good works.”
    (Ephesians 2:10)

  38. Charles Kaminski says:

Jesus cleary is God,not was,Is,scripture cleary points that out,Father,Son and the Holy Spirit are equal.

  39. Clayton Liles says:

Why does Jesus have all authority in heaven and earth, over creatures and creation. Scripture says all things are placed under His feet. He is God

  40. Jim Stair says:

You already refuted yourself when you quoted John 1:1-2. “
the Word was God.” Hebrews 13:8 tells us that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.

  41. Marc Abel Bautista says:

if Christ is God? and in the Bible The True God have a Son, If Christ is God? Who his Son?

  42. Marc Abel Bautista says:

    John 8:40

  43. Terence Sowers says:

Now Johnatan Matias you are WAY OFF with John 1:1. You are either not honest or you are not thinking. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Let me break down the three “was” statements
    1) In the beginning [archē] WAS the Word [logos]
    a. Logos [Jesus Christ] WAS in the ar-khay’
    b. The beginning of what? Of everything
    2) the Word WAS with God [Theos]
    a. Logos WAS with GOD
    b. The two parts of the Trinity of the God had was with each other
    c. Now we know from Geneses 1:2a “and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters.” Therefore, all the Trinity was at the beginning.
    d. Now Johnatan Matias if it stopped there you may have a point BUT
    3) the Word WAS God
    a. Logos WAS Theos
    b. Jesus Christ WAS GOD!!!!

  44. Justin Mirza says:

    Jesus it îs God. Point. John20. 28 / Romans. 9.5 /tit2. 11-14.

  45. Worthem Vashingnao says:

According to postmaster of this status. He studied the word “was” in different method. For instance, i was young in my high school life but now I’m old. The word WAS is still pointing to me not to any other.

  46. Doug Larter says:

    Please read your Bible-
The Jews at that time knew what Jesus was saying and wanted to stone him on multiple occasions.

“It is not for a good work that we are going to stone you but for blasphemy, because you, being a man, make yourself God.” John 10:33 ESV

Jews know only to worship God. Even doubting Thomas got it right.
Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!” John 20:28 ESV

    Just not humans but Angels!
“And again, when he brings the firstborn into the world, he says, “Let all God’s angels worship him.”
    Hebrews 1:6 ESV

Lets look at someone being worshipped at the same time that should not be ….”But Peter lifted him up, saying, “Stand up; I too am a man.” Acts 10:26 ESV Something that Jesus did not do.

Jews get it right again…”Why does this man speak like that? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?” Mark 2:7 ESV

Well if Jesus is God then he’d be omnipresent. Nathanael said to him, “How do you know me?” Jesus answered him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.”
    John 1:48 ESV

Well if Jesus is God he’d be there in the beginning. “And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed.” John 17:5 ESV

Some Jews scratching head and more stoning…”Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.” So they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple.
    John 8:58‭-‬59 ESV

I could go on and on, let’s look at the early fathers who all believe Jesus was God one of which may have known Apostle John. Clement of Rome, Mathetes, Polycarp, Ignatius, Barnabas, Papias, Justin Martyr, Irenaeus maybe they just got it all wrong like the Jews that wanted to stone Jesus, I think not.

  47. Angie Miller says:

    Jesus is also the Father

One God and Father who is above all, through you all, and in you all.

  48. David Ott says:

1John 5:7. For there are 3 that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost, and these three are one. “The Word” meaning Jesus. The Trinity. It’s like an egg. You have the yoke, the whites, and the shell. Three things but it’s 1 egg.

  49. Jeremy Rush says:
  50. Toni Armstrong says:

God was in Christ meaning that God our Father came and dwelt as one of us. The Spirit in flesh.
