Together, the Free Bible Program and Bibles Behind Bars are reaching people with the preserved word of God in astounding ways I never thought possible

People tend to think that our Free Bible Program and the Bibles Behind Bars Program are the same, and while they are united in mission and purpose, they are not the same practically. Bibles Behind Bars sends very large amounts of King James Bibles in bulk to the jail or prison that requested them, and are given out by the chaplains in those facilities to the inmates who request one. But the Free Bible Program sends individual Ruckman Reference Study Bibles to individuals, usually to people who listen to our online ‘Rightly Dividing’ King James Bible studies.

“And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region.” Acts 13:49 (KJB)

In this month of June, the NTEB Bookstore sent out 102 Ruckman Reference Bibles to the Philippines, Canada, and within the US, as well as cases of Spanish KJV’s as well. The cost of the Bibles to us was right around $3,000.00 but the cost of the shipping was $6,550.00. All told, it cost just under $10,000.00 to send out those Bibles, most of which were overseas. Remember, they all go to individual people. Is it worth it to send out study bibles overseas at nearly $100 per person? You better believe it is! When we send out individual Bibles, it is all part of how we work to disciple and equip believers in their walk with the Lord after they got saved. It is highly important. A listener named Tanya wrote “I am a cancer patient at Ochsner LSU hospital in Shreveport Louisiana. If there is a way to get King James Bible in large print it would be greatly appreciated. If not I will find a magnifying glass. Thank you so very much.” Large print is not part of our Free Bible program, but we sent her one anyway.

Our two Bible programs complement each other perfectly, one is to individuals who are committed to a course of biblical study, and the other to people at the end of their rope and in a dark place. Isn’t that just like the Lord to raise up both programs to cover all the bases? I never would have thought of that, but He sure did. Speaking of Bibles Behind Bars, I got this email today and wanted to share it with you. It reads “Every Bible we receive to give to an inmate allows us the opportunity to present the Gospel to him or her.  We average 30-40 requests per week for Bibles at our facility.  Once an inmate trust Christ as his/her Saviour, they are given a discipleship program to help them grow in the Lord.  It’s been amazing to see how quickly some of the inmates have grown and embraced the things of God after being saved. Some of our inmates pass through our facility very quickly as they go onto prison, so we try to get them a Bible and present the Gospel to them as soon as possible.  Other inmates stay at our facility for their entire sentence.  These are the ones that we get to work with to help them grow in the Lord.  Every Bible that is donated is a blessing to us and to the inmate that receives it. When people ask for Bibles, we send them out at no charge. When people write in and say how much they would like gospel tracts but cannot afford them, we send them a box at no cost to them for either the tracts or the shipping, no matter where they are in the world. We have a Gospel Billboard program. We are now broadcasting Bible studies, Podcasts and a Sunday Service 5 times a week, thanks to your generous donations. All this is possible because YOU pray for us, YOU support us, and YOU give so we can continue growing.

The Lord has given us an open door with a tremendous ‘course’ for us to fulfill that will create an excellent experience at the Judgement Seat of Christ.
