Why is it that many Church of Gods today no…

Why is it that many Church of Gods today no longer go by the Church of God label? When I started with the Church of God, I went to Sylvania Church of God. It then changed to Cathedral of Praise and later to The Church on Strayer. Is this a new trend in the Church of God to leave out the words “Church of God?”
