You win’em, you baptize ’em.

I’m wondering if any of you go to a church where it is the custom, generally, for the one who wins someone to Christ to baptize them, or does ‘clergy’ have to do the baptizing.

It’s interesting to look at who actually baptizes other people in water in the Bible.
– apostles
– a deacon and evangelist (Philip)
– a disciple (Ananias)

I can’t find a passage where ‘the pastor’ or someone called ‘an elder’ baptized. Of course, they fall into the ‘disciple’ category.

What do you think fo the idea of having individuals in the congregation evangelize, baptize, and disciple people as a way to get them to fulfill the great commission?
