Memories from the Past – One night while standing behind…

Memories from the Past – One night while standing behind the pulpit and preparing to start preaching, I noticed things began to go in circles. I became dizzy and light headed and, of course, I knew that was not the Holy Ghost. I asked God to help me, and He did. We had an outstanding service and the dizziness had left me. Later that evening, when my wife & I retired for the evening, I shared with her what I had experienced. We began to realize something we had not even thought of before. As we pondered over our recent meetings, we soon realized that we had been preaching every night, and sometimes on Sunday mornings as well, without even one night off, for 26 weeks. That means we had been preaching revivals for 6 months, with no time off. It was then we decided to preach 12 night revivals, starting on a Wednesday night and going through two weekends. So every two weeks, we had Monday & Tuesday off to rest up, go shopping and pay bills. Today’s revivals are nothing like the revivals held in the CoG back in the 1970s and early 1980s. An evangelist is fortunate if he can get a Sunday through a Wednesday night and call it a revival. Friends, you can’t have a revival in that short of a time. It usually takes 2-3 nights before a real revival breaks out. Don’t believe me? Why don’t you find a God-called Evangelist and plan to have a 7 day revival or even a 2 week revival? You say, “They won’t come?” Of course no one will come if there is no Holy Ghost anointing in your meetings. But if you will pray and seek God, you will be surprised as to what God will do for you. Why don’t you try it? You may be surprised as to your results.
